    About Vidyard

Vidyard is the video platform that’s built for business. Using the tools, organizations can drive more revenue through the strategic use of video. Going beyond video hosting and management, Vidyard helps businesses drive greater engagement in their video content, track the viewing activities of each individual viewer, and turn those views into action. Global leaders such as Honeywell, LinkedIn, Citibank and Sharp rely on Vidyard to power their video content strategies and turn viewers into customers.

“Prior to using Muck Rack, I tracked all media coverage manually for two and a half years. Now I’m getting back 10-15 minutes of my morning every day -- those minutes add up!”

    Media Alerts

I get a lot of Alerts! It’s easy to quickly sift through Alerts to see what’s most important to me and the team at Vidyard. I can look at Google Alerts all day, but Muck Rack is often quicker at getting me that content found within the headline or title. It’s also great for alerting me to journalists who are talking about our brand or products so that I can quickly engage.

For example, often a member of our leadership team will complete an interview, but the story won’t publish for a few weeks. Because of Muck Rack’s integration with Twitter, if the story is tweeted and we’re mentioned, I get an Alert, notifying me the story has gone live. Without Muck Rack Alerts, I’d miss a lot of coverage -- all of that effort, preparation and recording time means nothing unless we’re able to leverage the content once it’s out in the world.

Our CEO is very involved in our local community, so I also use Alerts to see where he has been quoted. This gives me the opportunity to engage further with policymakers, local leaders, entrepreneurs and writers following the tech space.
Just recently, we found out Vidyard had been named one of Canada's Top Small & Medium Employers (2019). Several articles were published listing names of companies on the list, including ours. I knew through Muck Rack Alerts that those announcements had been made public.

    Search

I often use Muck Rack’s database to proactively research journalists to pitch for stories. Prior to using Muck Rack, I’d try to figure out the emails of the journalists I wanted to pitch, all based on the pattern of a publication’s email domain. Now, I can easily search Muck Rack to learn about a journalist and get their email address, social media URLs, latest coverage, and more.

The way I use Muck Rack in combination with Vidyard is also an interesting use case. I’ll use Muck Rack to do my research and find an appropriate journalist. Then, I’ll record a quick video pitch using our video messaging app, Vidyard Go Video. You’d be amazed by how many reporters reply back to a video pitch! It can be an incredibly effective way to converse when a reporter opens up a video and sees you waving to them in a video GIF -- it’s very personalized. These days, it’s rare that I’ll even send text-only pitches. I’m constantly making videos because they work!

The combination of having the background data provided by Muck Rack along with creating a video pitch has led to great media success. Here’s an example of how this worked recently: I came across a reporter from Fortune that I wanted to pitch, then found his information on Muck Rack. I sent him a video pitch, and he responded within a couple of minutes and said, “I LOVE THIS!” in all caps. He went on, “I never watch videos, but I watched yours, and I love it.” From there, we started a great conversation that led to continued conversation.

“Muck Rack is easy to use, especially for those new to the tool. Competitor platforms can be very clunky, especially in the set-up phase. It can take call after call to get everything to operate. After a one-hour onboarding call with Muck Rack’s customer success team, I felt confident in using Muck Rack.”

    Five Fast Questions

    1. In addition to results, what other benefits have you experienced from Muck Rack?

Muck Rack has changed my reporting process. Prior to using Muck Rack, I tracked all of our company’s media coverage manually for two and a half years. Now I’m getting back 10-15 minutes of my morning every day -- and those minutes add up! Muck Rack’s automated coverage reports have helped me become much leaner.

Plus, Muck Rack is fast and helps me save time! It loads faster than competitors where I felt like I was loading a beast.

    2. How would you describe Muck Rack in three words?

    Lean, fast, real-time

    3. If you had to explain how you use Muck Rack to someone in a tweet, what would you say?

Lean and clean, @MuckRack's got your back when it comes to media monitoring when your minutes matter.

    4. What would your job be like if you didn’t have Muck Rack?

If I didn’t have Muck Rack, I’d be a manual monitoring master (and that’s not a good thing!) I’d waste a lot of time copy and pasting info into spreadsheets to track and share coverage.

    5. What would you tell other companies considering using Muck Rack?

I work with a lot of public relations representatives in my industry and we all compare the different tools and software we use. Muck Rack comes up a lot. I always tell colleagues, if you are looking for something fast and lean, Muck Rack is a really great solution.
