Our biggest effort of the year is when we release our school rankings and best places to live. To prepare for a launch like this, I need to build a number of different media lists, including national lists of contacts, but also localized versions. Muck Rack helps me build up-to-date lists and keep those lists organized so I feel prepared in the weeks leading up to the launch.

When it’s time to pitch, I can easily personalize my messages to reporters. This helps us build on the existing relationships we already have with some of the reporters who have covered our rankings before. It’s also easy to keep track of reporters we may be reaching out to for the first time. The research and work that goes into a launch can be a lot for a one-person PR team. But Muck Rack simplifies the process and makes it very straightforward. I get more work done much faster using Muck Rack.

Tracking tangible results—and showing them off to stakeholders

When it comes to reporting, I need to be able to give a high-level picture of what's going on in the PR side of the house to my stakeholders. Muck Rack's reporting features really help me offer more layers to the story. Their reports are easy to understand and stakeholders can interpret them very quickly.

I track a number of metrics: pitches sent, opens, links clicked, journalist shares on social and more. One of my favorite parts of Muck Rack’s reporting is how simple it is to track coverage for each of my campaigns. Being able to show who is sharing our links really goes a long way to demystifying PR successes and sharing important information with others at my company.

When Muck Rack’s renewal date came up, there was no question. I knew I needed to keep Muck Rack. I don't know what I would do without it.

“It's really easy to track which pitches you've sent, who's opened it, who's clicked on your links.”
