    Search

We’re constantly looking for ways to be more efficient in building relationships with media and sharing stories that resonate.

I benefit from (and use the most) the keyword search feature across the Muck Rack database.

With so much crossover within the media world, I’ve found that sometimes the best, most relevant contacts for a story exist outside the industry beat or vertical.

We want to engage with reporters who are passionate about the causes, products and companies we represent.

Today, a tech reporter who is also a yoga enthusiast could be a stronger connection than a reporter who covers all aspects of wellness and healthcare. It’s just one example of how you’re able to drill down and better understand what stories will truly resonate with each reporter and thinking of him or her as a person and not just a beat.

We use results from Muck Rack to determine event invite lists, new product or announcement pitching, and every-day media relationship building on behalf of our clients.

It’s made what we do faster and more effective.

    Customer Service

I’ve used the chat help function a handful of times and appreciate how Muck Rack answers questions quickly and follows up to get you the information you need — albeit a missing contact or new outlet to add.

“When we found Muck Rack, we were looking for a tool that allowed us to dig deeper into a reporter’s interests and coverage, and ultimately streamline the time-intensive process of building media lists. We care about lists being personal and deliberate, and an automated or basic platform just doesn’t provide the level of detail and depth we need in order to accomplish this.”

    Five Fast Questions

    1. What would your job be like if you didn't have Muck Rack?

It would be more difficult and time-intensive for sure! By collating Twitter feeds and capturing articles freelance journalists write all in one, easy-to-view place, I’m able to quickly determine if a journalist is a good fit for a story while double-checking for accurate title and contact information.

    2. What would you tell other companies considering using Muck Rack?

Muck Rack is a useful tool that filters out what journalists share and write about, and is worth investing in if making meaningful connections with media is at all a part of your job!

    3. How has PR changed in the past several years? How has Muck Rack helped you keep up?

The world of PR has totally changed even since I entered it nearly a decade ago! The media industry and news consumption have also undergone major shifts. Today, immediacy is everything and journalists are often contributing to several publications at once, and providing content in real-time.

It’s forced me to be more nimble and organized. I want to ensure I’m being accurate but you can’t wait too long to enter conversations — they’re changing so quickly already.

Muck Rack is one way I can keep up by tracking the moves within the media industry and being plugged in to what journalists are saying, when they say it.

    4. If you had to explain how you use Muck Rack to someone in a 140-character tweet or a 10-second Snapchat story, what would you say?

“With @muckrack, I can ensure that I’m reaching the right reporters at the right time with news that they can use.”

    5. How would you describe your experience with Muck Rack in three words?

    Relevant, Easy, Informative
